After earning a degree in Journalism/English Lit, I worked as a managing editor for a monthly bridal publication. In 1997, I began working as a freelance writer. In 2001 my family and I moved to North Africa, and since then my photographer husband and I have traveled extensively in North Africa, Western Europe and the Northwestern United States, experiencing our planet's diversity in everything from nomads and fresh camel's milk to wine, cheese and sea snails in southern France. Our children are growing up with a view of the world that includes dealing with sarcastic French teachers and navigating strange airports. I have worked as a university professor, an ESL teacher, and a travel writer. My work has been published in Metro Parenting and Highline newspaper and online at sites such as TravelBlogs, Scribbit and Rocks in my Dryer.
